Minister P.J. Hale was born in 1977 to Liz and Percy Hale in Columbus, Ga. Coming from a long family lineage of deacons, deaconesses, and preachers (Most notably his grandmother Apostle Cammie Mitchell). P.J. has always had a love for teaching God’s word. In 1988 after joining Mt. Calvary Baptist church in Rockville, MD. he became active in the church’s youth ministry program by singing in the youth choir, participating on the praise team, and becoming a junior deacon. As time passed a teenage P.J. became more involved by occasionally teaching breakout sessions for adults at Mt. Calvary men’s retreats along with other teenagers.

It was in the summer 2010 that he joined Village Community Church. Under the tutelage of pastor Don Evans, P.J. once again began growing spiritually and renewing his love of teaching about God. After studying under Pastor Don for some time it was in January 2018 that P.J. accepted the call on his life to preach the living word of God. In March of 2018 he gave his initial sermon and was confirmed as a minister at VCC. Currently Minister P.J. also serves as Youth Minister here at Village. When asked what his favorite scripture its he stated “Romans 8:6…For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
